Harry Potter Music Video

Ginny Di and her friends made this lovely Harry Potter music video...

"I recently released a brand new parody music video that I think your readers would enjoy. It's a fun, Harry Potter-themed version of Sam Cooke's classic, "What a Wonderful World." It's a low budget production, made with friends and filmed in my house and on the local college campus! It's called What a Magical World."

Belle from Beauty and the Beast Cosplay

Alicia of The Marvelous Girls of KW Cosplay looks gorgeous cosplaying as Belle! ♥ Here's what she had to say...

"So, this was like a dream come true costume for me. It always seemed to be a faraway dream; mostly because of how expensive I knew the fabric was going to be to make the dress. But for my birthday, my boyfriend gave me the special edition Swarovski Beauty and the Beast bracelet, and just thinking about how pretty it would look with the potential dress made me go into mission mode. As luck would have it, I was given a whole bunch of fabric from a friend which would ultimately become the bodice. Then on various thrift store ventures I found a tablecloth (which became the underskirt) and curtain panels (the skirt with pickups and the sleeves) and everything just came together."

Jessica Jones Cosplay

Geek Girl Northern Belle Rogue looks wonderful cosplaying as Jessica Jones and here's what she had to say...

"Jessica Jones is my spirit animal. While there are characters that I've always identified with like Rogue or strive to be more like, such as Wonder Woman, there is no character that has spoken to my soul quite like Jessica. I always said I was more of a 'rogue' than a hero which falls right in line with Jessica's anti-hero nature. Furthermore, her style and her attitude mirror mine more often than I should probably admit. To top it all off I've been a huge fan of Krysten Ritter since Gilmore Girls and she is perfection in the role. I hope you all enjoy the photo set as much as I enjoyed portraying it! xo The Northern Belle, Rogue."

L from The Minds Eclipse Cosplay

Max Melancholy looks wonderful cosplaying as L and here's what she had to say...

"I'm cosplaying the lesbian android L from The Mind's Eclipse. I'm the cosplayer for this, Max Melancholy, and I'm based out of Raleigh, NC. The Mind's Eclipse is an indie video game set to come out summer 2017. I was excited to do a character from the game. It has lots of dystopian, cyberpunk themes. I've connected with futuristic, dystopian aesthetics since I was young and I think that the representation of a queer character in a game is important."

Elisa Maza from Gargoyles Cosplay

ArtistGenevra looks lovely cosplaying as Elisa Maza from Gargoyles! Here's what she had to say...

"90s kids rejoice with all the nostalgia and feels! While not an incredible cosplay in the costume construction department, the character herself is a rare cosplay and unsung hero in the female cosplay world. “Gargoyles” was one of my favorite shows growing up and Elisa Maza was a fantastic female lead character, which was really important for a strong willed young woman like myself. I tried to bring authenticity to this basic costume by wearing 1991 black boots that belonged to my mother and a 1980s oxblood leather jacket, borrowed from my father. Bringing a little realism to Elisa in a “realistic” setting. Divine Distractions did a fantastic job creating digital renderings of Goliath for the backgrounds. I wanted to show Elisa off and remind all Geek Girls that you can put together something simple that has a whole lot of meaning. It’s also important to put Elisa Maza out there for cosplayers representing African American and Native American races, as Elisa is a mixture of the two in the show. (and so is her real life voice actress) I’m Italian American, and hardly a good representation of this character’s race, but Elisa’s spirit and personality is what I desired to emulate and represent. If you’re not familiar with the show, check it out and discover a whole new world of awesome!"
