Catwoman Cosplay

Cesar237 sent us these sexy Catwoman shots featuring the beautiful Megan Finlay...

"While perusing a costume shop one day I came upon these Catwoman goggles. Finding this costume piece is what inspired the creation of the rest of the shoot. Each element, from the costume to the set, was meticulously selected or created to fit the idea of Catwoman I had in mind."

Fantastic Four Cosplay

Geek Girl Northern Belle and her friends look FANTASTIC in this cosplay! ;) Here's what they all had to say...

Northern Belle: "The Fantastic 4 are a team that I believe needs more attention. As the first female superhero created by Marvel during the Silver Age, Sue Storm has always been close to my heart. I appreciate how much she has developed over the course of comic history, as more than just a damsel in distress to a strong leader and integral part of the team. While it has always been easy to identify with her invisibility powers with insecurities, it is her defensive powers that always spoke to me. Her ability to shield her team from danger, and her role in avidly keeping the team together made me truly respect her character - plus how could I pass up the opportunity to be alongside my hot headed b̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶ brother, and my fantastic b̶o̶y̶f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶ husband? With each of these characters striking pretty close to our innate personalities, this was a hugely fun triplet that I hope we reprise again soon, maybe even with all 4! ;)"

Cajun Cosplay: "I had a fantastic time at Atomic lollipop 2014, I got to spend some much needed quality time with my beautiful wife ;) outside of the lab for the first time in ages! We don't get a lot of chances to be seen together out on the town, being stretched between work and research, it was a refreshing change. We even got to hang with her hot headed brother! I can't wait to see what they have in store for us next year!"

Don't Panic Cosplay: "I've always loved Johnny Storm because he's troublesome but in the most fun way, and he sticks by his sister's side no matter what. We explored another part of Johnny and Sue's relationship with some lighthearted teasing about her romance with Reed, and being all around annoying in a typical bratty brother fashion. I was really excited to get the chance to cosplay him with my best friend as Sue for that reason. I'm also a huge fan of fire-based characters, so overall I have to say I love being the Human Torch."

Saria Legend of Zelda Cosplay

Holly Flann looks magical as Saria from The Legend of Zelda! Here's what she said about it...

"I have always loved to be outside. Whether hiking, camping, playing my ocarina (yes I actually can play it) or just laying around, the outdoors has always held a special place in my heart. Couple this with a love of cosplay and the LoZ universe, and Saria was the perfect character for me to be! I created the costumes for a bunch of friends and I attending Salt Lake comicon as Twilight Princess Link, Saria, Ganondorf, Midna, and Zelda. The characters and costumes of the Zelda universe are beautiful and I was so pleased to be able to bring them to life, especially Saria."

Tabletop Gaming Fan Photoshoot

Moira Zhou looks lovely in her D&D and tabletop gaming themed photoshoot! Here's what she said...

"I play a lot of tabletop... so I figured I should do a shoot with all my books, dice and a bunch of character sheets. No these are not all my books... some of them belong to one of my DMs and some of them belong to the photographer but I promise I only included books that I have used to either make characters or that my groups have actually played with and yet still this is not a comprehensive list of everything I have played... like no Shadowrun books are present, for instance XD However, those are all my dice lol

I thought a bit about what I wanted to wear for this shoot... like did I want to cosplay? Should I throw on some of my SCA stuff? In the end I asked myself "Well, what do I wear to game?" the answer was simple... "Clothes" so I did the shoot not dressed up at all."

Historical Maleficent Cosplay

Geek Girl ÁLI looks phenomenal in her impressive 15th Century Maleficent cosplay! It was inspired by the Maleficent fan art in this Historical Disney Princess Designs series. Here's what ÁLI had to say about this cosplay...

"With all the hype and build up of Angelina Jolie's Maleficent movie this year it was hard not to get excited. This is Maleficent we're talking about! She is mysterious, larger than life, and as a child I thought of her as the epitome of evil. I knew that a lot of Maleficent cosplays would make their way to the internet and at Cons but I was looking for something a bit different...so when I saw Claire Hummel's (AKA Shoomlah) 15th Century version I knew I had hit the jackpot! A costume with historical reference and challenges galore...this was the one for me!

There isn't much to help with how to make clothing from this period so I spent a lot of time researching photos online and pictures and text from my Costume books.

I started with the horned hennins. I decided I would use Worbla as the base structure and thick eva foam for the horns. After priming and painting the middle section, and adorning with pearls I painted Glow in the Dark, I made sleeves to fit over the foam horns with velvet, hot glued them to the Worbla base and made a criss-cross pattern with gold wire, finishing it off by handsewing pearls where the wire met.

The houppelande is HUGE!!! Made with over 10 metres of fabric and fully lined...this bad boy was heavy but comfortable at the same time! lol. It is fully lined, including the dagger sleeves which were painted with fabric paint and glitter around the edges. The belt was made with Worbla and then covered with the same velvet used for the hennins and both pearls and resin medallions were handsewed on. The necklace was also made with resin, first by making clay sculptures, silicone molds, and then resin which were each painted.

All in all this costume was the most time consuming and hardest I have ever taken on. Almost every aspect was a first for me. At times I wanted to give up but it was all made worth while when I debuted it at Ottawa Comic Con and people approached me saying they had waited to see my Maleficent in person. Have I said how awesome my fans are??!!

You can find my tutorial for Maleficent on Instagram and my Facebook page."

Scarlett Rose Cosplay looks gorgeous as Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII! Here's a little bit about her love of cosplay...

"Good Afternoon, my name is Scarlett Rose cosplay. I have been cosplaying for over 12 years. It has helped mold me into the person I have become and I have been fortunate enough to be able to use it to do good including raising awareness to a fundraiser for my friend that needs a heart transplant.
