Classic Horror Inspired Photoshoot
Duchess Silk looks spooky in her classic horror inspired shoot! Here's what she had to say...
"Some people and the spiders they encounter have set rules for interaction, which usually ends in the squishy death of the spider. I live in Australia, so if I was to kill every spider I came across, I wouldn't have time to get much else done.
So, if they are harmless - like the Daddy Longlegs - I leave them alone. If they're freaky looking - a Huntsman - I try to trap and release them outside in one piece. If they are poisonous and kind of a jerk - say the Red Back Spider, who loves to hide in shoes and sheds and chair legs, and bites any hapless human hand exploring there - I kill it, with some remorse.
In any case, no spiders were harmed in the making of this shoot, because no way am I putting live spiders in my mouth! This isn't Candyman, dammit!
The concept started with my favourite spider web lingerie set, and just sort of snowballed from there. We were going for a real old-school horror film look, sort of somehwere between a genuinely innocent, cursed victim, and an evil, spider controlling, fairy demon. Using bodypaint, hair styling, and some amazing makeup, I think we got it down pretty perfectly."
