A New Dawn Ahri Cosplay
JWo Designs looks beautiful cosplaying as A New Dawn Ahri from League of Legends! Here's what she had to say about it...
"I cosplayed as New Dawn Ahri because I just love the look and story behind the character, not just in-game, but the myth of the Kumiho throughout Asian culture. The few similarities that the Kumiho shares throughout different Asian myths is that she is a seductress that eats mens' souls or hearts and transforms into a fox. As a child, my mother told me a lot about the 'huli jing' (Chinese name) and that it was also a term used to describe "loose" women. Basically, that describes Ahri to a tee and it just connects me to my childhood when I cosplay as her.
These photos were taken at PAX East 2015 outside of the Westin hotel by the wonderful Chez Photography. She was great to work with and captured the cosplay perfectly! I was stopped A LOT for photos and interviews from strangers. Riot Games even filmed me for a cosplay documentary! I was how shocked with how many people loved the costume.
I have been cosplaying since 2006 where I wore my first cosplay as Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII to a football Homecoming class theme day. After that I did simple cosplays since I was limited in equipment and budget. Now that I have more access to supplies, I hope to make more complex and ornate cosplays."
