Iris Shaw The Crow Cosplay
Mircalla Tepez from Germany looks incredible cosplaying as Iris Shaw from The Crow: Flesh and Blood! Here's what she had to say about it...
"When I watched The Crow movie with Brandon Lee as Eric Draven for the very first time it just flashed me. I was deeply touched by the bitter sweet beauty of this whole story, by the tragedy of Eric and his beloved Shelly and felt inspired by this story in many ways. This feeling became even stronger when I got my hands on the comics as well. Gosh, no other comic before or after made me cry. This one however did. So I bought the sequels, too and when I got to know Iris Shaw, the only female Crow, I promptly started thinking about cosplaying her and put a Crow inspired shooting on my 'wanna shoot some time soon'-list.
But I wanted to do it with a photographer who shares my love for the story only. So I was amazed when I met the most admirable MADmoiselle Méli who is a gorgeous model and a great designer, but even a fantastic photographer and digital artist. She likes The Crow franchise a lot and was immediately willing to approach this project together with me.
The cosplay itself is actually a pretty simple one. Everything I wear was already part of my wardrobe and I just had to put it together so it would fit the style of Iris Shaw from The Crow: Flesh and Blood. I decided however to use necklaces that mean something to me rather than just getting the same one Iris wears. Anyway I think an ankh and a raven fit the concept as such pretty well. The make-up Méli did is of course mainly inspired by Iris' remarkable face paint, but we decided to add the black scratches in the corner of the mouth Eric Draven got to the look."
