Carol Rossetti created these beautiful reminders for all women, and now we've even got some geek specific ones relating to cosplay harassment and the "fake gamer girl" witchhunt. This is an ongoing series and it's being translated into many languages. We first posted some last year which you can see in
Part 1 here and there are many, many more on her page, something for literally every woman to relate to! She said to

"It has always bothered me, the world's attempts to control women's bodies, behavior and identities. It's a kind of oppression so deeply entangled in our culture that most people don't even see it's there, and how cruel it can be."
We all need these reminders sometimes. Especially with our minds and bodies being judged and scrutinized daily. People will say this isn't true, but every day, EVER DAY, just on our little cosplay page alone we get the comments "too fat", "too skinny", "not a real women", "fake geek", "slutty", "ugly", "stupid", "shouldn't be wearing that", "attention whore", "that's a man", etc, etc, etc, and that's from our own community. We've learned to brush them off, delete and move on, but everyone has bad days and confidence can be shaken. So remember ladies, you are unique, you are smart, you are creative, you are beautiful, you are strong.
You are whatever you want to be an no one can tell you different. You are in charge of your body and choices. Keep your chin up, do you, rise above the judgement and hate and be true to yourself. ♥
