"I have been a lifelong LOZ fan, ever since I watched my brother battle it out with Phantom Ganondorf at the age of 6 I was in love with the franchise. After recently getting into cosplay I knew it was inevitable that I would eventually cosplay my favorite video game princess.
I spent several months working on this cosplay, I wanted to make the costume well and really do justice to the princess to the best of my ability. I made my own pattern for her gown and made two petticoats for fullness. I experienced many setbacks in this project, such as losing my first set of Worbla pauldrons to the rages of a July sun, but with every step back there is a chance to change paths; this led me to the fun that is EVA foam armor smithing.
This cosplay is by far my favorite creation to date, and I am very happy with everything that I learned during the completion of this project (though I may never work with silk charmeuse fabric again). With this labor of love now completed I am excitedly looking forward to a new roster of cosplays for 2015, although I believe that this costume may forever be one of my favorites."
