St. Louis Renaissance Faire

St. Louis Renaissance Faire

Review by: Mistress Jessie Cosplay

Hello, Lords and Ladies! I attended the St. Louis Renaissance Faire three of the four weekends it was in St. Louis, MO as a Mord'Sith and Confessor! What an amazing group of fans and cosplayers!

The cosplayers are a range of pirates, wenches, fairies, and elves! Even Jack Sparrow made an appearance and put on a show for all the lovely faire goers.

The creativity and dedication of the costumes is amazing! Unlike a comic convention, a renaissance faire often has rough terrain and hot weather! I love seeing individuals in costumes that they must be uncomfortable in, but do it for the love of the character or the medieval time period. The creativity in costumes at a renaissance faire is always slightly different than a comic convention, but still amazing!

If you have never been to a renaissance faire, I highly recommend it! The food is beyond delicious! Turkey legs, brats, and oh the fried goodies! Have you ever tried a fried Oreo? Talk about heaven on earth. Dear spirits! It is worth the many calories!

The vendors! So much handmade items your head will spin! The dresses, leather, jewelry, and so much more are exquisite! You are surely to find something you cannot leave without having. I know I walked out with more purchases than I intended too.

The shows are always a treat! The live jousting is a must! Nothing like being back in time and watching men fight to the death on horses for entertainment. There is also several pirate shows, including Jack Sparrow himself! Who doesn't love some rowdy pirates singing?

And then there are all the amazing people. You will also be sure to make some new friends! Admirers of your costume, or maybe as an admirer yourself! There is even usually a king and queen traveling around the faire, so be sure to be on your best behavior or you might end up in the stocks!
