The Steampunk World's Fair 2014
So Steampunk World's Faire in NJ was last weekend. I was in constant awe of the absolutely stunning costumes that came by. I was lucky enough to be in a high traffic area-aka the hallway with the bathrooms! So I got to see so many costumes come by! I also met some fantastic vendors that I have to mention because they were so absolutely impressive...
Not only that but this particular group of people were so much different than the typical comic convention goers. I found so many people who wanted to talk about literature and costume which is my world, and I found that absolutely amazing! I think I had a conversation about every book series I have ever read! Something that has never happened to me at a convention.
Sunday I was in a dress from
Madgirl Clothing, amazing talent!
And I have to mention some truly stand out people that I met.
Cross' Critters, she is SO talented making both adorable stuffed animals AND absolutely stunning wooden steampunk wings...
Fine Line Leather Design, I swear her bracers were made of real dragon skin they were absolutely amazing, and within ten seconds I had bought two very cool leather bracelets
Some great cosplayers, specifically two adorable girls cosplaying together who came to see me all weekend,
Ashley Uncanny and
Rainie The Ultimate Ginge, two of not only the sweetest girls ever but absolutely stunning costumes as Steampunk Elsa and Merida on Friday and Steampunk Harry and Ginny on Saturday...
And my other favorite costume was Becca Jo as the Steampunk Cheshire Cat
Aside from that there were a tremendous number of other exceedingly talented people. I myself spent Friday and Saturday in a
Crystal Ball Costumes/Princess Nightmare collaboration costume based around the theme of a hat by
Red Wyvern Studios who was also at the convention...
As well as
Winged Wolf Caravan's collection of dolls, jewelry and other amazing things!
Horror Show Jack does some AMAZING fangwork.
Also the awesome
Concardia who had some fantastic games set up! And an awesome concept!
And I can't leave out the amazing Smoke and Mirrors Peep Show, girls who are so brave to get on stage. Something I certainly could never do, I am far too shy!! I had the pleasure of meeting one of their members
Isis Winters, who is beautiful and sassy and all around fantastic!
These are just some of the amazing people I met, I unfortunately I was not able to meet more-as a vendor I can't spend too much time running around! But the hallway my booth ended up taking up and the bathrooms right by let us meet and see some truly great costumes and lead to us meeting some wonderful people. But I hope the photos taken by me, my 'staff' (aka my wonderful friends who volunteered to help me run my ridiculously long hallway booth!) Will be able to show a bit of the spectacular event this was! I truly hope to be a part of this for years to come, I have never seen a convention like it.
