The iconic Star Wars stormtrooper costume has been etched into our collective imagination. The original stormtrooper suit, with its white armor and curves, is so memorable that it can be recognized almost anywhere in the world, and yet, due to the Star Wars franchise's long history, today, there are many different types of stormtroopers in the galaxy.
Besides sandtroopers and snowtroopers, the prequel series gave us the addition of clone trooper armor. Clone troopers, the predecessors of stormtroopers, were all based on the DNA of Jango Fett. But are stormtroopers clones in the original films? The clone trooper vs. stormtrooper debate is much hotter than one might initially think! After the use of clones, the Empire began to conscript normal humans.
This causes moral issues within the Star Wars universe centered around the imperial stormtrooper. And in Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens, we're introduced to our first rehabilitated trooper, FN2187, or Finn, who sports a new stormtrooper helmet and is the antithesis of a new silver stormtrooper by the name of Captain Phasma, a one-of-a-kind villain. The images of stormtroopers have taken a lot of forms: Be sure to learn them so you can avoid the bad guys!

Below are some photos of a recent Magic:The Gathering Pre-Release Event we held back in early July. "This costume debuted August 20th in Season 7, Episode 6: "Beyond the Wall". When it came on screen I gasped out loud. I HAD to make it. And I had to make it NOW.
Overall it came together very smoothly. It's a simple costume as far as components go, the coat does about 95% of the heavy-lifting here. I built it with a linen lining, canvas interlining and a faux-fur outer. The bulk of the fur is this super soft minky material that is an indigo/grey near the base and white at the tips. Once the coat was assembled I placed it on my dress-form and trimmed the stripes out one by one with hair cutting shears. This took about 5 days and made a colossal mess! Not to mention my hand was quite bruised by the end."
