"For almost 30 years I've wanted to be Jessica Rabbit. When I was a little girl playing pretend with all my friends everyone always wanted to be a Disney princess "I'm Cinderella!" "I'm Sleeping Beauty" and then I'd chime in "I'm Jessica Rabbit!" My friends thought I was crazy. And as I grew up, honestly, I thought I was crazy too. I was too short to be Jessica, too curvy, too me and nothing like her. But as I got older I became more comfortable in my own skin and I also started to become more confident with my cosplays. So I finally took the leap and commissioned a dress to be made. It had to be perfect. I wanted a built in corset to ensure I could get the most out of my natural curves, I wanted to pick the perfect fabric that sparkled so much it blinded, I wanted to do this character I've loved so dearly justice. My costumer Jessica (perfect enough name right?) nailed it! And so at WonderCon 2017 I debuted MY Jessica Rabbit. It was the highlight of my year and has quickly become my favorite cosplay. These photos were taken at WonderCon by the very talented Michael Greening and I can't wait to shoot more with him in the future. I'm sure I'll be rocking this red dress for many cons to come! xoxo"

As the post-apocalyptic genre continues to gain popularity with the mainstream it leaves me wondering, "Will this finally be the year Wasteland Weekend loses its heart and is overrun with tourists who don't grok what the genre is all about?" And every year the answer is overwhelmingly and resoundingly "No."
I have been attending
Wasteland Weekend - the world's largest post-apocalyptic festival - since 2012. It is often referred to as "Burning Man meets Mad Max," but that is just lazy shorthand for the uninitiated and barely begins to encompass what Wasteland Weekend really is. (You can read my previous coverage of years

Mālo ni! I'm so excited to share this photo shoot with you. To see the Polynesian culture depicted on the big screen has been exciting for not only myself but to my family and friends! I jumped at the chance to cosplay Moana at San Diego Comic Con this year and did a photoshoot out at my favorite beach and had a great time at both.
Moana is confident, brave and overall an amazing role-model for people everywhere. This is an amazing step forward for diverse representation in our films and I'm happier for it.
At SDCC 2017, I ran into a great cosplayer of Maui. Scroll below of us switching our oar and fishhook. His fishhook was handmade and the carvings glow-in-the-dark! Great attention to detail.

"I've been wanting to cosplay Super Sonico for a while, particularly because of her cute, bubbly personality, and I've always loved her kimono outfit. For this cosplay, I made the kimono from scratch, using iron-on transfers for the flowers. I also made the headphones using a cheap pair as a base, then adding on the extra sections using Wonderflex and craft foam. When KuzPhotography and I shot the cosplay, we wanted to capture several different outfits, so we did pictures of the kimono, bikini, and boudoir corset during this session!"
