Vudu Juju Interview

I recently got to interview Vudu Juju, a Cosplayer, Clothing Designer, and Artist in Toronto, On. We've been virtual friends for quite a few years and i always look forward to seeing her work, whether it be an original concept or cosplay.
What inspired you to Cosplay? Do you choose characters that are completely different from you or similar?
I was inspired to cosplay when I was dragged into FanExpo at age 16, and it actually blew my mind that there was this exciting culture happening so close to home! I needed to join in because Halloween just wasn�t enough. :D
The characters I choose tend to be an extension of my personal gothy style. It makes it so much easier for me to find the right fabric in my sewing room and portray the personality of the characters much more authentically.
You're also a Fashion Designer (a super rad one too!) Do you plan to release a clothing line one day or take commissions?
I would love to own my own clothing line after school is done, one more year and I hope to release something that people can wear for several different occasions while maintaining uniqueness. I�m really into historically inspired pieces and I hope to translate that into my business!�
For the time being I don�t take commissions because of the workload of school, but I hope to help people with their cosplay outfits one day � it�s definitely on my bucket list!
What are some of you favorite Comics/Mangas?
My absolute favourite comic is �Clive Barker�s Hellraiser� by BOOM! Studios, it�s so beautifully illustrated and in my opinion fixes the Hellraiser universe in where the last few movies have tarnished the story. A close second is a manga called �Alichino� by Kouyu Shurei which was unfortunately short lived�
What conventions can we spot you at this year? where can we find more of your work on the internets?
