Fan Expo Canada 2013 cosplayer highlights! This year was bigger and better than ever and we had an absolute blast!! Over 100,000 fans attended and there were more fans, more retailers and exhibitors, more events, more panels, more celebrities and MOAR OF EVERYTHING than ever before. It was four days and took over both the North and South buildings at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for the first time.
I was able to pull off over 20 private shoots with Geek Girls, shoot hundreds of snapshots of cosplayers on the floor, shoot lots of the guests (see them in our
celebrity highlights post), hang out with
Ivy Doomkitty at her table, see the Defiance panel and meet/get autographs from the whole cast, see The Walking Dead panel, see Nathan Fillion's panel, see the Masquerade where both our Geek Girl entrants won huge titles and of course spend a whole bunch of money on amazing/rare merch (let's just say my POP! Vinyl collection got even bigger, lol). So I'd have to say that's one hell of a win!!
I'm still coming down from the high of the con but now the all too familiar post-con depression has sunk in as I go back to reality and get back to work. I'm still sore and my bank account is hurting, but of course it's all worth it for the amazing times with friends, the epic photos and memories that will last a lifetime *happy geek moment*. I hope everyone else who was there had great times too and anyone who didn't make it, never fear, next year is Fan Expo Canada's 20th anniversary and promises to be even bigger and better than this year! It's August 28th-31st, 2014 so mark your calendars!
Thanks to everyone who graciously allowed me to take their photo, I will be uploading ALL the photos I shot to our
facebook page in the Fan Expo 2013 folder over the next few months. Please be patient I took sooooo many it will take me a long time to go through them all and I have to deal with my client photos first (I'm a professional photographer who's hobby is photography so I get very busy, lol), but I assure you they will all go up eventually!
