"On Thursday of San Diego Comic Con International 2016, I decided to cosplay as Kaneda from Akira! Knowing how incredible Katsuhiro Otomo's work on Akira, both the manga and the anime, will forever be unmatched, it was fitting to honor the character as a cosplay. (And in the San Diego heatwave we experienced, this outfit was pretty forgiving. I liked being able to throw the jacket over my shoulder and look like a bad-ass.) I hope it won't be the last time and next time, I hope to bring my beau on-board as Tetsuo! ;)
At the end of Thursday, I had the pleasure of wearing this cosplay to my first San Diego Comic Con panel. I represented GeekxGirls and my small press company, Dark Productions during the Women of Color in Comics: Race, Gender & The Comic Book Medium. "
