February & March Powered Geek Box Review

Photos/Review by: Geek Girl Wandering Dana

The awesome folks over at Powered Geek Box sent me their February and March boxes to review (and here's my January box review)! They are a monthly subscription box featuring epic gifts for nerds, geeks and gamers. They deliver great gear and novelty items from brands like DC Comics, Marvel, Nintendo, Star Wars and Capcom right to your doorstep every month. Here's my photos and review of their boxes...

Here's all the awesome stuff from the February box! I was super excited when my Powered Geek Box showed up and even more excited when I opened it and saw the Deadpool stuff! *fangirl squee* So now I'll talk a little about the items individually...

Powered Geek Box Review
My favorite included was this solar powered NECA Body Knockers Deadpool! He's sitting on mt desk now amongst my Star Wars bobble heads. He's solar powered, so doesn't need any batteries, you just expose him to sunlight or lamp light for a bit and he'll hypnotically rock side to side. It's really cool and as you can see the sculpt is well done and detailed.

The next few items were this neat Pixel Bricks Ken from Street Fighter. I haven't put him together yet, but it looks fun and contains 188 pieces. Also a Batman travel mug, which is both cool and practical and will come in super handy for on the go beverages. In fact Batman should keep one in his utility belt, lol. And this badass skeleton Superman shirt, which will go great with my Superman pajama pants.

I looooove this mini Deadpool, I actually have way too many Keaychains so I screwed the keychain part out of him and added him to my collection of mini Pocket Funko Pops! Now onto my other favorite item, this Snap Macro Lens. At first I was skeptical that it could produce decent images, but it's actually incredible. The only problem is it won't stay attached to my iPhone 6, so I just have to hold it in place. Here are the test images I shot on my iPhone...

So I was SUPER impressed with how well the quality of the images I took using my iPhone 6 and the Snap Macro Lens turned out. As you can see by the incredible detailed I captured on a seashell and in this drop of water on a leaf. It's also worth noting that I took these at twilight in low-light and it was windy so these test shots were taken in far from optimal conditions. I can't wait to play around with this more!

Next, here's all the awesome stuff from the March box! It was another big excitement opening it, and right as I was unboxing I said "I hope I get a Funko POP! Vinyl this time, and lo an behold, I did!". Thanks Powered Geek Box! So now I'll talk a little about the items individually...

Powered Geek Box Review
So as I mentioned, I was very excited to get a pop vinyl this time! I am a collector as some of you may already know, you can see some of my pop collection here (I have even more than that now lol). So I was happy to add this one, it's a Superman Soldier from the nightmare sequence in Batman v Superman where Bruce Wayne sees an alternate apocalyptic reality. That was actually my favorite scene in the whole movie so I'm happy with this one, but of course now I need Batman and Superman to go with him!

In keeping with the Batman v Superman theme, I also got this sweet Superman mug. In these pics you can see both sides of it. This will come in handy for me as I keep my markers/pencil crayons in geeky mugs and I've been needing a new one!

I'm a big Punisher fan (planning a genderbend cosplay for this year) so I was also happy with this Punisher keychain. But as I have too many keychains already, I'll be making this into a necklace. And I'm not really a Harry Potter fan at all myself, but my sister is a hug Potterite so the T-Shirt will be going to her, yay for presents!

Powered Geek Box Review
Another cool Batman v Superman Funko product is these fun Mystery Minis! You never know what you're going to get so it's always exciting! I got this cute and badass little Bats and I love him! ♥ As I mentioned before, the nightmare/alternate apocalyptic reality sequence in Batman v Superman was my fav part, and this is also where he's from, yay! You can see in the pic of the box above all the options you could get.

And lastly this awesome Super Mario hat! I'm a huge Nintendo gamer (and amiibo collector too lol) and I've been loving Super Mario Maker and all the latest Mario games so this is perfect for me! I took a silly selfie in front of my desk to show it off and you can even see my Yoshi and Gold Mario amiibo in the background, hehe! So that's it, more awesome loot to add to all my geeky collections! As always I highly recommend Powered Geek Box as a monthly subscription if you like getting cool stuff... and who doesn't!?
