Our Geek Girl Zelda looks lovely cosplaying as Daphne! Here is what she had to say about the shoot...

"I had originally made this Daphne costume a couple years ago with the intentions of bringing it to a convention in Sacramento (I can't even remember which now!) - I have a friend up in northern California that has an actual Mystery Machine, so I had been dying to shoot photos with it for forever! I got sick and wasn't able to make it up there, so I had this costume sitting around for a couple years, waiting to be photographed...It didn't look like I was ever going to get up north to shoot with the Mystery Machine, so I decided to take pictures of it down by me instead. This location was picked somewhat at random but worked out really awesomely for the shots - Apparently it's an old, kitschy movie store down the street from me. It's been closed up for awhile, but it still has all sorts of awesome and appropriate artwork on it. I had totally forgotten it had the Mystery Machine painted on it even! Being chased by cops, even. It was serendipity! The monsters on the wall were great too.

The photos were taken by Saltwater Production Co, who I work with all the time, but this was actually the first time we had worked together 1 on 1.

We had been talking about shooting some marijuana shots for awhile as we are both California prop 215 patients, and of course, it just goes so well with the characters from Scooby Doo. But sitting under the artwork of the cop car chasing the Mystery Machine, smoking the bong, all I could think in my head was "Fuck the police!" - Haha! I have a lot of fun at my photoshoots.

Hopefully someday I can still make it up north and shoot with my friend's Mystery Machine, but I guess I'll have to make a Velma costume if so :)"
