Geek Girl Jillian Ryan: "This costume was a blast and a half! Even though Rainbow Dash isn't my favorite, her colors and spunk made her a must on my cosplay bucket list. Everything was self made minus the shoes and wig and I used a base bodysuit and built onto that. Everything purchased still had to be tailored! I did the jacket, bustle, arm warmers, boot covers, corset and hat. It was a fun but very daunting process, as stretchy fabric is my nemesis! My favorite part of the costume is that little kids love it. They give me high fives, ask for hugs and we talk mlp together. It is awesome!"

Geek Girl Evie E: "MLP; FiM is such an interesting show, I didn’t know how much I would end up loving the show when I started watching it! I’ve done 3 MLP cosplays, my first was Ditz Doo / Derpy which was so much fun and it one I’m thinking of remaking. Next where Princess Luna and Fluttershy, Fluttershy is easily my favorite of the mane six!"

Geek Girl Shelle-chii: "Ever since I was a little girl, I always enjoyed My Little Pony. So when I heard that the show was being revamped, I was so excited! The show was so amazing, more than what I was expecting actually. The art is beautiful and had only gotten better as the show goes on, the characters are lovable, and the stories are touching. The first pony that I cosplayed was only in the show for for a moment, but was a fan favorite. Vinyl Scratch aka DJ Pon3 spoke to me not only because her design was awesome, but I love music so much. I have done many many versions of this cosplay. The first was with a DJ hero turntable and simple white pants and tank top with the wig, then I made my own custom turntable. I made the basscannon and was so happy with it, as well as made new shoes to go with the new prop and shorts. A new wig and outfit was made, but I never really got good pictures of it. I did a couple of Bikini cosplays of the ponies, the first was Rarity, who is my favorite of the mane 6. I also did Applejack, who is actually my least fav of the 6, but I like them all at least a little so it was still fun to cosplay her! I have always loved villains, and when Chrysalis first came onto the screen I knew i wanted to cosplay her. I modded a dress and made the wings along with the crown, and it was a really fun cosplay to wear. I never thought that MLP would invade my adult life like it has, but it holds a nice spot in my heart for modern and nostalgic reasons."

Geek Girl Northern Belle Rogue: "I was drawn to MLP mostly because I wanted to do Rainbow Dash as a costume for PRIDE... but I couldn't cosplay a character without knowing more about them. I put on My Little Pony expecting it only to be background noise while I craft and boy was I mistaken. I am completely enamoured by the world of Equestria! While it is a kids show, it has character driven story and more pop culture references than I could catch. Not to mention the 6 archetypal characters that I think everyone can see a little part of them in. I loved putting together these three ponies and will likely do more characters in the future. I wanted to start with these three because out of the mane six, I connect most with are Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. I even joked to my partner, I'm probably about 40% AJ, 40% Pinkie and 20% Rainbow Dash... which let's be honest, makes me about 20% more cool! ;)" (Photos:
