Steampunk Black Cat Cosplay

Geek Girl Princess Nightmare looks amazing cosplaying as her steampunk version of Black Cat in these whimsical photos by Bombshell Pinups! Here's what she had to say...

"All in all this is one of my favorite costumes of all time.

I don't think I could have done it any better or any differently it ended up EXACTLY how I saw it in my head. I love wearing it, I love being black cat, I love Steampunk, I love every single piece of this costume, and the combination just makes this truly one that I absolutely love. I was lucky enough to wear it quite a few times this year. For these photos as well as for Jeff Mach's Wicked Winter Renaissance Faire and Cleveland ConCoction (some of you may recall I was a panelist, contest judge, and guest in Ohio which was an amazing experience!)

I don't do many super hero costumes anymore but I will always love black cat. Black cat has been my favorite comic book character pretty much forever. It isn't because she is sexy etc. It started over 10 years ago when a friend started calling me Felicia/Black Cat and then I read literally everything I could find and the more I read the more I loved her.

So I wanted to be creative and try to make Steampunk Black Cat work. It took nearly a year to put this together with pieces I had and pieces I acquired. Over 4 months to find the discontinued fabric alone. The gloves I wear for all versions of Black Cat. I made them back in 2007ish? for the first Black Cat costume I ever did for a Halloween party. The leather and lace ended up perfect to transfer right into my steampunk idea.

The dress was something I had in my head for a while, a corset dress with a bustle in the back open in the front that was short...because I felt like this needed to have leggings that were visible but still a little frilly...and it was really cool that it is actually a style Pendragon Costumes does along with a fantastic little cap jacket which was another part of what I wanted to do with this.

To add more cat to it I talked to Hibernacula about a hair clip to match my cat eye necklace.

Various other places come from just my collections of 'stuff' at least 3 pieces in here are from the screen worn seeker collection...including Kahlan's leggings.

It took a while to figure out what the best backdrop would be but the Amazing wheel Mandy built was just so absolutely perfect. I am totally in love with the wheel. (Which as an aside she handpainted the entire thing and I just think it is AMAZING!)

It really is one of my favorite of my costumes of all time. "
