Whenever I’m fabric shopping for new costumes I find fantastic Marvel, DC and Star Wars print fabrics. Since I’m a geek who knows how to sew the first though that pops into my mind is 'I need to buy all of this and make ALL THE THINGS.' Circle skirts are a great simple sewing project to use your fun fabric finds.
Personally I like making my circle skirts extra full by making a double circle skirt, I find the fullness to be more flattering and you get an amazing princess twirl. To make a double circle skirt you divide your waist circumference by 2 and cut out two full circle skirts, each half the size of your waist. When you sew the two full circle pieces together you get a massive double circle skirt. This method can be applied to make your skirts giant, go triple or even quadruple!
For those who don’t know how to make a circle skirt there are some great youtube and
blog tutorials. Happy Sewing!
