George Michael Freedom! '90 Inspired Photoshoot Casey Trueman Photography
shot this wonderful series of photos inspired by George Michael's Freedom! '90 music video! You can see the full shoot here
and here's what she had to say...
Chances are, when you hear that name, at least one great song comes to mind. For many of us, lots of great songs come to mind. I remember being a little girl in the early 90's and hearing "Wham!" for the first time. I LOVED the fun dance songs and the tiny shorts! I grew up admiring George Michael and his amazing ability to flawlessly convey what so many people felt.
He had so many incredible songs and videos but none stood out to me as much as "Freedom '90". That video spoke to me. I watched it over and over, admiring the beauty of these models and in awe of the artistry behind the video. I replayed it, watching each scene as if I were in it. The subtle lighting changes, the upbeat spirit of these women. They legitimately looked like they were having so much fun! I knew someday, I wanted to do a shoot completely inspired by this video.
This shoot is not a recreation. It is not a cosplay or imitation of what George Michael and the producers/directors/models created. This is a shoot completely inspired by an amazing man. When you look through these images, please do not compare the two. Rather, enjoy some artistry George Michael helped bring to my camera.
He was taken from us too soon and had so much more love to give the world. Thank you, George, for being an inspiration to me, my team, and so much of the world."
