Harley Quinn Cosplay

Our very own Geek Girl Roxy Lee cosplayed as her own awesome version of the one and only Harley Quinn! Here is what Roxy had to say about the cosplay...

"Hi all! Roxy Lee here with my second cosplay from my shoot with Adam Jay. I chose to do my own original version of Harley Quinn for two very personal reasons, 1) She is my favorite villain ever made and I have adored her since I first found my love for geek fandome, I have her name tattoo'd on me also. And 2) I knew I could never be her in real life at an event as I cannot do her the justice I so feel she deserves, it is just a personal thing for me as I would want to perform her to the fullest and know I could never do the voice or have her personality and those are two traits I find the most important when being her. Therefore I decided to immortalize her costume and makeup in a photo shoot for myself. As a Special FX makeup artist I really focused the most on the makeup aspect and less on the hair and costume. The makeup for me was a twist on her origins of becoming Harley after falling madly in love with Joker, I felt in all honesty she would seek to embody him as that is all she knows and has seen of his world so far, so I kept the classic scars. I then added my own spin on her mask keeping in mind that she might of just took whatever was in her purse at the moment (Lipstick, eyeliner, mascara) and just drew all over herself in a mad craze. I did however keep the classic white face paint because c'mon its HQ ;) I also added a short blonde wig instead of her classic long hair and pigtails because it was all I had and I also just thought it was more business and simple and modern for a psychiatrist, and when she brought it down after her unraveling it became unkempt and messy. The costume was just a spin on the whole wearing sexier lingerie under the lab/doctor/trench coat haha the freak inside of the meek ;) I also put her in her doctors coat and holding the clipboard because I wanted it to be the moment after she snapped, her last session with the Joker that made her finally lose her mind.

I loved this set, I loved being one of my favorite characters ever, I felt amazing and crazy and Adam and I had a lot of fun, he brings out the crazier in me and isn't afraid to get us to that point of letting it all out and not being afraid to test ourselves as models in front of the camera. I thank him for that :)"
