Schala from Chrono Trigger Cosplay
Miss Scarlet Tanager looks beautiful cosplaying as Schala from Chrono Trigger and here's what she had to say...
"When I was little, I would watch my father and sister play all kinds of games even before I could hold a controller. I remember seeing Chrono Trigger when I was little, though who was actually playing I don't know. But the flashy colors got to me, and when I got a copy of the game when I was older, I fell in love with it. It's been a while since I've had that copy, but I remember loving the character of Schala, so it wasn't a hard choice when thinking of who to cosplay from Chrono Trigger. I really like Schala's character, and she somewhat reminds me of another cosplay I've done (Yuna from Final Fantasy X), given her character and what happens to her over the course of the game.
The cosplay is linen and handmade, using a pattern I made myself based on a historically Celtic dress called a bliaut. The collar floats and isn't attached to the dress, and the white around it was stitched on mostly by hand. My friend, who took and edited the photos, went for a high contrast approach to bring an almost cartoonish or glaring look to the photos, much like the sharp color contrasts in the original 16-bit game."
