Geek Girl Mistress Zelda
looks amazing as her fantasy Viking Valkyrie! Here's what she had to say about it....
"I am a historical re-enactor with the SCA, but most of my love of history has always come from the mythology, theology and folklore. This valkyrie ensemble combines elements of real viking attire with some of the traditional fantasy elements we ascribe to them. The headpiece was made by me out of taxidermy pheasant wings and repurposed materials (mostly destroyed belts). I styled it with a genuine fox fur and my historical recreations of brass brooches and bead hangers, with several glass viking style beads I have collected from SCA events, Wasteland Weekend and Scandinavia. The makeup is partially inspired by Norwegian black metal and was done by the always talented Grotesquery Embrace.
This was my first time working with photographer James Tiffany. We spent a bunch of time in advance chatting about what we wanted our shoot to represent and I created some pieces based off his vision boards. I really love what we ended up with, it's very representative of me and my interests!"
