Game Night Photoshoot
Over the years countless 'Gamer Girl' shoots have arisen, many have even been posted here on Geek Girls. Of course, with these style shoots, trolls also emerge. "She's not a real gamer", "Gamers don't look like that" and "I bet she's never even played the game" to give a few polite examples of their meaningless drivel. The real comments are generally much more crass. Art is subjective, so of course not everyone will like everything, but that doesn't mean we have to be rude about it. After a DC Villain themed bathing suit shoot
, these three Sirens decided to go less sexy and more comfy with their evening wear switching in DC Hero themed PJs. Pizza was ordered and wine was poured. Rather than stage the photos - the game was played, DC's Injustice Gods Among Us, to be exact. During the games, Cajun Cosplay
and Sean Ward
took photos and video footage so you can see the shennanigans in action. Shooting this way lead to some amazing and natural expressions in the photos which tell a clear story.
Check out what was actually happening during these photos in this video:
Here is what each lady has to say about the shoot:
Makenzie Smith "Bubbles"
: "This was such a fun little throw together shoot that the three of us did after a long day of crafting, shooting and general shenanigans. Getting to just hang out and be our ridiculous selves was so much fun that it almost didn't matter that I got my butt handed to me by the other ladies....almost. I think the best part was seeing the absurd faces we make when completely absorbed with kicking your opponents in the face."
: "I'm usually a lone wolf campaigner type, but sometimes it's so much fun to get together with your best friends and kick each other's butts, DC style! After a day by the pool as Gotham's baddest Sirens, we suited up as DC heroes to nosh on some much needed pizza and wine. Such an unbelievably amazing day, and I love how candid these photos are!"
Northern Belle Rogue
: "Injustice has been a favourite game of mine for some time. I particularly enjoy the power up cut scenes designed for each character. It was fun getting a chance to share the game with Bubbles and Atlas, and what a great way to unwind after a long day of cosplay crafting and shoots. I love this photo set because of how honest it is. We were so focused on the game we practically forgot the camera was there. Except for of course when we tried to do the sexy mouth controller pose thing. Did we nail it? Big thanks to Cajun Cosplay and Sean Ward for capturing the evening. Who knows, maybe there will be more game nights to come!"
