Rainbow Dash Cosplay

Jillian cosplaying her adorable Rainbow Dash cosplay! Here is what she had to say about the costume, the show and how she made the costume...
"I am NOT an insane mlp fan. I do like the show very much though. Lauren Faust who worked on Powerpuff girls and fosters home for imaginary friends Is working with the new mlp and it has the same brand of humor as the other two shows she worked on (WHICH I LOVED). So all the mlp hating jokes aside it's a fun show and I love all the references to movies I grew up with etc.
So I wanted to do something colorful and different from what I had done before. I adore noflutter and she did the drawing I based my steampunk poison ivy off of and when I saw her rainbow dash it was at least 20% cooler (inside mlp joke) than any versions of her I had seen before and I wanted a challenge.
I hate working with patterns. they are evil.... and I had to work with SO many patterns for this cosplay. For this costume I made the under bust corset, the bolero jacket, leg warmers, cutie marks, bustle, wing harness, wings, hat, arm guards and took an old bathing suit and covered it with the appropriate fabric. SO MUCH WORK!!!
But I like to spread out my geeky ways and rainbow dash pushed my boundaries on my abilities in sewing and flexed outside the normal video game/ comic book cosplays I was so accustomed to doing."
