Gina B looks amazing as Velma in this awesome cosplay. Here is what she had to say...
"Normally my outfits consist of a basic outline: something to hide the fact that I am not busty, and to accentuate my legs. That normally puts me in a lot of fighting game characters, as well as anime, to even comics. I was asked to work at NYCC this past year, and they made the request though that I do something more "family oriented". I had no idea really what that meant for me, so I scrambled to just piece together something simple to wear to the con. Normally, I make armor and weapons and complicated what have you to really challenge my skill as a craftsman, but with a lack of time, and a lack of resources so close to the con, I decided on a simple nonsense sort of outfit: Velma.
Needless to say, I had no idea what doorway I had walked through. I could barely make my way through the throngs of people as I attempted to get to my booth for work, nor could I head to the bathroom without being delayed by great amounts of photos. I had no inkling as to why the sudden popularity; all I could think was how extra dweeby I knew I looked with my bob haircut and big glasses. It was after the con that I truly realized what I had created. I was repeatedly posted to sites like 9gag, and reddit for being such an "accurate Velma". It was then that I was told that she had become my best costume in my assortment of outfits! Who would have thought that the shy, quiet girl of Scooby Doo would rise to be my main costume?"
