Halloween wouldn't be complete without a Freddy vs Jason cosplay!
Bec of Hearts and
Purrblind look freaky/sexy as the Kotobukiya Bishoujo versions of Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees from A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th! Here's what Becs had to say...
"So this is a costume I made well over a year ago and only now got to shoot with one of my best friends as Jason. I had an amazing time during our very brief shoot that, truth be told, I kept pushing back because I was feeling very uncomfortable in my body. Putting on the costume that morning I was so afraid of how out of shape I looked and how tired I felt I wanted to cry just looking at myself, until I put on the wig and make up. Once everything was together I felt a little better about how I looked, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. Not great but not awful. When I got to the shoot I started having so much fun I momentarily forgot my insecurities and just played around in my badly made costume, having a great time. I'm still not comfortable in my body but getting the photos back I was overjoyed. I look at each photo and I can see just how much easier it was for me to pose when I let go of the idea of being as perfect as I could and just had fun. I almost forgot that was the point of cosplay for me because of shaming my own body for so long. While I'm still not okay with how I look I'm going to keep this shoot in mind when I cosplay and really focus on having a good time and worry about my body image when I'm not in cosplay. Body image problems come in all shapes and sizes but we all just want to have fun and thanks to cosplaying with such a good friend, I was able too."
