Dr. Mrs. The Monarch Cosplay
Sayakat Cosplay looks wonderful cosplaying as Dr. Mrs. The Monarch cosplay from The Venture Bros.! Here's what she had to say...
"I recently completed a Dr. Mrs. The Monarch cosplay from the cartoon network show The Venture Brothers. I debuted this cosplay at Wizard World Philadelphia. The costume is entirely made by me, and the photo shoot was done by Kenny Lee Photography.
While this costume is visually simple, it was not a simple costume to make. The front of the costume, being so low cut, is actually velcroed to a custom corset underneath, made from worbla. This corset also made sure the costume stayed PG. There was also a lot of topstick (double sided garment tape) involved to keep everything in place. Her crown and necklace are also made from worbla. The boots are custom single seam boot covers. The butterfly logo on the front is hand painted, and the "wings" are sewn onto the leotard. The wig was cut and styled by me as well.
In addition to her, I also made her villain husband, The Monarch, gamely worn by my awesome partner. This costume was entirely made by me. His chest and shoulder armor is worbla, as is his crown. His wrist shooters are made from PVC pipe and apoxie sculpt. He also wore fake facial hair, which was probably the hardest part of either costume to make (and stay on). All in all, we had a blast wearing these around the convention."
