CK Causeplay
CK Causeplay is an awesome group dedicated to using fun hobbies like cosplay and table top games to help raise money for charity! Here's a little bit more about the group from one of the co-fouders Danielle...
"My friend Kristina and I started a group locally last year called CK Causeplay, a play on words to cosplay as we are raising money for anti-bully efforts and peer mentorship programs like Big Brothers and Big Sisters. We have now grown into a group of 10 people and we plan events to raise money for charities.
We have had several gaming tournaments, LAN parties, 24 hour gaming challenges, cosplay contests, a 60's dance and even a 5k run, for us geeks who didn't want to run very far we also did a .5k run!
We have teamed up with our local comic book store called the Game Master's Emporium, or the GME and started our own pop culture event called CK Expo. It's the first thing of this kind for Chatham-Kent and it has a lot of events happening.
We have a gaming tournament, table top tournaments, a video game tournament room (various games), a panel discussion room, a horror film room, 3 different LARP areas, a cosplay contest, a sketch duel off, about 60 vendors now, and a kids area, and a cosplay masquerade."
