Heroes Charity

 

Adaina Velez shared with us her lovely new charity idea that she recently started called Heroes! Here's a little about the project from her...

"I am putting together a Charity called HEROES, in which I will make a cosplay costume for a young girl or boy in need and give him or her the wonderful experience of going to a comic convention all expenses paid for a whole year. My first HERO will be Jhosua Santana, Jhosua is a fantastic 8 year old boy from NJ who is currently in the hospital battling 2 forms of Cancer. Jhosua underwent a Bone Marrow transplant two weeks ago and is getting blood transfusions this week. He is expected to recover and as soon as he does he will attending a con with me. Please make sure to say hi if you see us walking around.

I visited Jhosua last night at the hospital and he told me that he would like for me to build him a Hawkguy costume for him to wear to the next Comic Convention following his discharge from the hospital. He is very excited to attend a Convention as he has never been to one and is looking forward to participating on the cosplay contest. Because Jhosua's immune system is still down due to chemo, everyone that goes to visit him has to wear gloves and mask so please make note of that when you view the pictures."
