Star Wars Celebration 7 - Day 2

Critical Miss is currently at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim covering all the epicness for us! The force is strong with her, here is day 2 (see day 1 here)...
We started off today getting into our Jedi costumes for the Knights of the Jedi Order picture with the Rebel Legion. My hubby was dressed as Qui-Gon Jinn and I was donning my Jaina Solo costume. And also being very thankful we were not wearing armoured costumes as it was very hot as we got to the convention centre.

Caught some great costumes today, and some great mashups as you can see. The Captain America/ Clone Trooper was really well done and the Muppets group was amazing. I had seen a couple of them at the last Celebration in Florida but seeing this large a group together was exciting. And that is one of my favourite things to do, cosplaying as a group is a wonderful experience and people love taking pictures of them.

Star Wars Celebration 7 - Day 1

We have been seeing some lucky 501st members who got to put together the new Anovos Episode VII Stormtroopers armour and they do look pretty cool in person. Also from Episode VII, is Rey's speeder built by the Belgium Garrison and with a costumer in the Rey costume. This garrison always impresses with their to scale models.

I was able to catch two panels. The first was Carrie Fisher, and I can tell you it was definitely worth the two hour wait. Special kudos go out to the pre-show guys who were funny and kept the crowd entertained while waiting for the main event. James Arnold Taylor is the host again this year, the man behind Obi Wan Kenobi on the Clone Wars, Fred Flintstone, the New on Blu-Ray and DVD guy and all the minions to name but a few of the voices he does. Check him out on IMDB to get the impressive list of his work. Carrie came out and was great. She had her French Bull Gary with her (who never leaves her side including during the filming of Ep VII, which she said J.J. Abrams was not entirely happy about) and he followed her everywhere she went. She was very candid and quite funny and it was a thoroughly enjoyable panel.

Star Wars Celebration 7 - Day 2

My last panel was the Ladies of the Legion panel, talking about what it is like to be in the 501st as a lady, what kind of issues you encounter (sizing armour, dealing with costume standards, bullying, encouraging more women to embrace their love of Star Wars costuming etc). It was a great and informative panel, with lots of appropriate questions from the audience. Then there was some panel crashing by the Willrow Hood group, who is the guy who runs by in Cloud City in Ep V with an ice cream maker in his arms, and this group runs around in crazy wigs and mustaches. One of the women on the panel is in the group so I'm pretty sure that is why they crashed it. It was pretty funny and impressive at how many there were. Bottom line to their panel was to have fun, which is a great message.

So that was the end of day 2, and lots more for the next two days.
