Cosplay Photographers in the Greater Toronto Area

Hey everyone, Jenn Marvel here I've complied a list of a few cosplay photographers in the GTA, these are a few of many I've come across the past few years. When I first started out, I had no clue where or how to find photographers, I mostly just took photos of myself or used photo booths at conventions. So I hope this helps for people just starting out or looking to use other amazingly talented photographers across the GTA.

RAJEE MAN PHOTOGRAPHY
What is your specialty?: Comics/Video Games/TV-Movies/Anime
Where are you located?: Located in Brampton/Toronto. Will shoot anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
What are your prices?: $15 for 30mins or $20 for 45mins (1 person), $5 for each additional person (Group Shot), Includes 8-10 shots, Prints: Negotiable
Years of experience?: Regular photography for 10 years. Cosplay Photographer for 8 Months (2014)
What conventions do you usually attend?: FanExpo Canada, Toronto ComiCons, Anime North, Atomic Lollipop, NFCC

JDSERADA PHOTOGRAPHY
What is your specialty?: Gaming, though I'm into just about anything.
Where are you located?: I live in Fort Erie, Ontario but I travel the Niagara Region frequently. Most often Niagara Falls, Welland, and St Catharines.
What are your prices?: Currently free! I am trying to gain experience more than anything at the moment.
Years of experience?: Three years, give or take a few months.
What conventions do you usually attend?: Niagara Falls Comic Con, Toronto Fan Expo, ConBravo, and Anime North are my current cons, though I'm constantly looking for more.

COSPLAYERS CANADA / ASPHOTOGRAPHY.CA / ANDREAS SCHNEIDER
What is your specialty?: All genres with a focus on showing the fine details of the costume.
Where are you located?: Local to Waterloo. Travel in the London/Toronto/Hamilton triangle.
What are your prices?: Most shoots at cons are free and include 1 posted edit with a chance to be in my Cosplayers Canada magazine. Generally private shoots are $100/hour and include 3 edits with model release.
Years of experience?: Shooting for 24 years, last 4 years with a focus on cosplay and modeling portfolios
What conventions do you usually attend?: Attend most major shows in Southern Ontario, Toronto Comic Con (March & December), Fan Expo, San Diego Comic Con, Anime North, C2E2, TriCon KW, Con-G, GTA Comic Con, Unplugged Expo, Ottawa Comic Con, Niagara Falls Comic Con, Con Bravo, Hammer Town / Hamilton Comic Con, GenreCon, Emiko mini con

HEART CANDY PHOTOGRAPHY
What is your specialty?: Mostly everything from Anime and comics to gaming, Special FX and original characters.
Where are you located?: I’m located in Oakville but I am also frequently in Toronto, the Niagara region and anywhere in between!
What are your prices?: Generally at conventions I charge $20 per shoot, flat rate. However, I am flexible and gauge my prices based on the project.
Years of experience?: I have been taking cosplay photos for 4 or 5 years now but my overall photography experience is around 8 or 9 years of shooting.
What conventions do you usually attend?: Conventions that I usually attend are Anime North, Niagara Falls Comic Con, ConBravo, Otakuthon and FanExpo.

REBEL SHOTZ PHOTOGRAPHY
What is your specialty?: I love to photograph all cosplay but I do love to photograph comic.
Where are you located?: I live in St. Catharines but will travel within a 2 hour radius.
What are your prices?: Our packages start at $85 and that would be studio or location.
Years of experience?: I have been photographing just over two years and recently graduated from my photography program at Niagara College. Also I am an award winning photographer 2 years in a row at the Sick Pix competition.
What conventions do you usually attend?: Have photographed with Cosplay for a Cure at Con Bravo , NF Comic Con, Atomic Lolipop, ToyCon and Anime North.

PAUL HILLIER PHOTOGRAPHY
What is your specialty?: Knowing where the local noodle restaurants are and speaking dirty Japanese.
Where are you located?: Today Toronto, tomorrow the world.
What are your prices?: What I can make money doing this!? I mean *coughs* um... now accepting first borns.
Years of experience?: 20 Years (yes from way back in the film days)
What conventions do you usually attend?: Next up Fan Expo

MARC DANIEL PHOTOGRAPHY
What is your specialty?: I am a huge Anime/Gaming/Pop Culture fan.
Where are you located?: St.Catharines, but can travel if necessary.
What are your prices?: $50/Hour Single Cosplayer (includes editing and digital copies, can arrange printing as well for a low cost). $80/Hour for 2-3 (group shot) includes editing as well. If travel outside of town is necessary, some travel costs would be required as well.
Years of experience?: 8 years in total. 6 Hobbyist, 2 Professional. Studied at Niagara College.
What conventions do you usually attend?: NFCC, Fan Expo, NYCC, Con Bravo, Pop Expo, Anime North, Ottawa Comic Con, Toronto Comic Con, Hammer Town CC.

What is your specialty?: Superheroes and Villains. Gritty street vibe.
Where are you located?: Toronto
What are your prices?: Shoots usually tie into video projects so I'm available more for collaborations

WILD BUNNY HAIR PHOTO STUDIOS
What is your specialty?: Convention photography including cosplayers and Steampunk, have also done studio work with cosplayers.
Where are you located?: I am from the Niagara Region, but I have taken photo's from areas across Canada, from Montreal to Vancouver.
What are your prices?: I don't charge for photo's. This is a hobby that I do for fun.
Years of experience?: I have been taking photo's since 2009, doing mostly 501st photography (Star Wars Characters). I have since branched out, starting cosplay photography.

ZANDRAGON DESIGNS / ZANDRA MURRAY
What is your specialty?: Personally I don’t have a specialty for shooting, I shoot all cosplay and it always varies per cosplayer, I also do wedding photography.
Where are you located?: I am located in downtown Toronto and travel to cons in the GTA and can be hired for private shoots.
What are your prices?: I charge 20$ for 45 minutes of shooting at cons for one person. 5$ per head for more then one person (i.e 1 person= 20$, 3= 30$).While studio shoots are 25$ per hour, and location shoots are 20$ per hour plus transit fare.
Years of experience?: I’ve been doing con photography for the last 5 years but have been working as a photographer for around 7 years.
What conventions do you usually attend?: Fanexpo, JCC Events, Anime North, Frost Con, ConBravo, Atomic Lollipop, CostumeCon, GTA Comic Con, Toronto Comic Con, Niagara Falls Comic Con, Along with cosplay Picnics and Gathering located in Toronto

ALMON CHU PHOTOGRAPHY
What is your specialty?: I tend to shoot everything, so I can't really say that I specialize in photographing any specific form of cosplay. However, I have a special soft-spot for video game-based cosplays, and anything from the Warhammer 40k universe.
Where are you located?: Richmond Hill, although I travel all over the GTA for conventions/shoots.
What are your prices?: Those curious about my pricing should contact me directly. New clients are always welcomed!
Years of experience?: I've been shooting Cosplay for about a year now, though before that I was shooting mainly weddings.
What conventions do you usually attend?: You'll generally see me at any GTA Convention. Feel free to come find me and ask for a shoot!

AILES NOIR COSPLAY PHOTOGRAPHY
What is your specialty?: Although I tend to shoot with cosplayers that cosplay from multiple genres, my specialty is mostly anime based cosplay.
Where are you located?: I'm located within the Niagara Region in Southern Ontario. I frequently shoot within Niagara and the GTA but I would like to travel throughout Southern Ontario to work with more cosplayers outside of conventions and other events.
What are your prices?: $15 for 30 minutes $20 for an hour $10 per extra person Prices for private photo shoots outside of conventions: $20-$40 per shoot/person Costs depends on location of shoot due to travel costs. What You're Paying For: Minimum 10 to 50+ edited photos.
HD quality photo sent through Dropbox or Google Drive. You may use the photos for whatever you'd like as long as credit is made where it is due.
Years of experience?: I've been doing cosplay photography for 2 years now and continuing on strong! But I'm a photographer that's always willing to learn more as she does to get more experience.
What conventions do you usually attend?: Anime North - Toronto, ON, Niagara Falls ComiCon - Niagara Falls, ConBravo - Hamilton, On, FanExpo - Toronto, ON
Those three are the main conventions I for sure go to, other than the small ones here and there that I've been trying out.
