Lydia Beetlejuice Inspired Cosplay
Geek Girl Zelda
looks awesome in her original Lydia / Beetlejuice inspired cosplay! It's perfect for the Halloween season and here's what she had to say...
"I've done a ton of Beetlejuice cosplay, and I'm starting to run low on traditional ones. I've already done Lydia's wedding gown, Lydia from the cartoon, Beetlejuice, and a Sandworm, so I decided to do my own original Beetlejuice-inspired design. I paired some Beetlejuice pants with a crop top inspired by Lydia's cartoon look (just shortened, and lined with black and white stripes). The hat of course is from one of the final scenes in the Beetlejuice movies, where he turns into a carnival ride. The hat actually lights up with LED strips that my boyfriend helped me install (the hat itself I made out of a number of things). It's really hard to photograph the LED lighting unless you have a continuous light set up. I was actually hoping to do something a little more interesting with a background and setting for it because it's an outfit I put a lot of work into, but we actually shot this at a portfolio meetup for the meetup group JaW Images runs and I help host group shoots with, and it was way too crowded to get much of anything done. I'm still happy with how the photos came out and it's always fun to work with JaW Images especially because she's also a costumer, but I might reshoot this costume sometime. I did wear it a Club Cosplay event and it got tons and tons of positive compliments, even though the hat makes it a little hard to party in, haha!"
