"My favorite issues of X-Men comics have always been those that included the X-Men cutting loose and spending downtime together. I enjoy the group dynamics that come out when they aren't distracted by saving the world (even though their R&R is inevitably interrupted by a crisis), and I always felt I got to know the characters a little better in those issues. The outfit in these photos is pulled directly from just such a story, X-Men #8, written by Scott Lobdell and pencilled by Jim Lee. Rogue cooks Gambit a tasty meal and they attempt to have a picnic before someone crashes the party. I was always so taken with how gorgeous Rogue looked (in spite of the fact that she's clearly endangering everyone around by wearing so little!), and this photoshoot is a love letter to my favorite X-gal, and one of my favorite comic issues."
