The Joker Cosplay
Presenting again, Geek Girl
Zelda as a fun female version of The Joker. Here's what she had to say about the character and the costume...
"The Joker has always been one of my favorite villains, along with Harley Quinn. I've made and cosplayed Harley Quinn 3 different times over the years already. She's become so popular among female cosplayers and there are already so many women who do it FLAWLESSLY (How to compete with Elise Archer or Gotham Public Works?) Obviously there are a ton of amazing Joker cosplayers as well, but I haven't seen too many women who do it. This was actually my first crossplay, and I'm so in love with how the costume and photos turned out! I've had a clown obsession for several years as well now, and actually have done several clown costumes and photoshoots of my own design. One year at Comic Con I even cosplayed nothing but clown/jester characters for all 4 days. That was about 8 years ago. The obsession runs deep :)
I wanted to do a version of the Joker that was sexy without showing too much skin. It was heavily based on the classic Alex Ross and cartoon Joker styles, but I added the laced collar to make it feel more girly and glamorous. It's probably one of my favorite costumes to date, and I was lucky enough to have it photographed by the fabulous Myke of Mykes Photos! He shoots primarily glamour photos in the Maxim/Hustler style, so it's always fun when we work together because our work is so incredibly different from each other yet somehow work beautifully together."
