Splicer BioShock Cosplay

Our awesome Geek Girl Roxy Lee looks stunning as a Splicer from BioShock! Here's what she said about it...

"Hey everyone, Roxy Lee GG here! Ok so as some of you may already know, Bioshock is my absolute favourite game franchise. I have "Would you Kindly?" tattoo'd on the back of my neck with an Adam chain and have played through each game almost 10 times each. I am obsessed with the story, the concept, the feel and the world of Rapture and decided to make a Bioshock related cosplay. Now I have always wanted to create Eleanor Lamb's big sister suit but knew I did not have the tools nor money to do so, so started a bit smaller. I have always loved how the splicers looked and acted within the game, their portrayal is both frightening and flawless. Their movement, look and dialogue is insanely creepy yet compelling if you take the time to just hover and listen to them rant and mumble to themselves. The amount of careful time taken to give each splicer a personality is truly incredible. My favourite Splicer was always the Spider splicer, or Baby Jane. She was an amazing character in the sense she was a performer and always wanted to be a star. she was driven by this and ultimately to her demise and ruin. I wanted to attack this character as I myself was once a performer and tried to capture that dream and thought if I were to be a splicer in Rapture I would for sure be Baby Jane.

I made the hooks from scratch and the kitty splicer mask using an old mask base I had lying around, you can find my walk through here. I also found a vintage dress and destroyed it and did my makeup myself at the event. I wanted to create my very own look based around Baby Janes character and not do it exactly as that is where I have my fun in cosplaying. Recreating looks for already distinguished characters. It is as if I get to play designer. I shot this cosplay with about four photographers the weekend I wore this and here are some of the results <3 I hope you like it as much as I did, it is one of my absolute favourite cosplays I have made and worn. And yes I did walk around the convention with one shoe on, even outside in the rain LOL I had to portray her accurately ;)"
