How To Talk to A Geek Girl 1. Compliment Her- Who doesn't like getting compliments? It's a great ice breaker and a way to start a conversation. Make sure it's an appropriate comment and not something awkward that might scare her away.

Do:
Guy: Hey I really like your Nyan Cat shirt where did you get that? I love Nyan Cat. Geek Girl: Thanks! I got it off of the Nyan Cat website, they started selling merchandise now!

Don't: Guy: Hey I really like how tight your pants are.
Geek Girl: ...uhhhh k thanks....

2. Don't Slack Off with your Gaming Skills- Geek girls will show no mercy when it comes to playing games against you, and one of the prime perks of dating a geek girl is that generally she will not yell at you for playing video games. In fact she might even sit beside you and have a LAN date or pick up a controller. Try not to be the noob but pwn the noobs, just be pro at games and she will respect you more for that.

How To Talk to A Geek Girl 3. Share your Passions- Do you have a passion for NCIX? Is over clocking your graphics card and its low temperature really awesome to you? Do you have an amazing comic book collection hidden away? Maybe you are passionate about helping animals or you like to help build orphanages in your spare time? Most Geek Girls don't care if you are the best looking person on the block, or the richest, as long as you are an interesting and passionate person.

4. Know the Lingo- When you talk to a Geek Girl you don't want to sound like a total noob. If you don't know what a noob is you probably already sound like one. My recommendation is that you read our other article Geek Speak (coming soon), to make sure there are no communication barriers, and you can understand what she means when she says your leet. A port is not where you can find a boat, and executing something doesn't actually mean that you are killing it in cold blood, that's a headshot.

How To Talk to A Geek Girl 5. Always be Honest and True to Yourself- Although I am giving you some helpful tips and advice, one of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to be yourself. Whether she likes you or not you can't pretend to be someone else because sooner or later the real you will come out and she will think that you are oddly acting differently for some reason and you just acted a certain way to just try to "get into her pants". If you want to get to know the girl better and you really like her it is best to be yourself to really see if you are compatible, you want someone to like you for being you. If you end up dating the girl, acting like that other guy for a few weeks/months/years will be completely exhausting. So save yourself the trouble and be real.

How To Talk to A Geek Girl 6. Practice Good Hygiene- Brush those pearly whites, take a shower, do your laundry, fix up the hair and put on some deodorant. This should be sound advice for everyone, it will not only make you feel good but if the girl decides to hug you and she gets stuck to your crusty shirt that you haven't washed in a few days, it's probably not going to be the best experience for either of you... and that's just one example.

7. Be Confident- I believe that people should always be trying to build up themselves and each other with confidence and self-esteem. People who are confident are generally more happier. They feel better about themselves, are more positive and better to be around. If your not complaining about things and feeling insecure about yourself you can be more concentrated on what you are talking about. It will help you to feel more at ease, and it is good for your health and well being.

8. Be a Good Listener- Being a good listener is a crucial part of being a good communicator. It can allow you to see the world through the eyes of other people, what they are thinking and what they are feeling. By listening you can have a better conversation and have more understanding about others. Try to listen even if you disagree so you can try to see other aspects of the issue that you might also partly agree with. Opening the lines of communication usually means that more communication will follow.
