Domino Cosplay

Geek Girl Roxy Lee looks amazing cosplaying as Domino at Toronto ComiCon 2014! She looks totally badass in the photos and we were lucky to see her there in person too and she looked equally epic! Here's what she said about this cosplay...

"Hey guys! Wow so I know you are all thinking, that is a mighty big gun...Well yeah it really is hehe, it stands about 5ft 3" and I am only 5ft 6" so it is roughly the size of me almost ;) I decided to do Domino a while back as a closet cosplay and it quickly became a new favorite cosplay of mine. She is sort of an anti hero which works for me as I am not a huge fan of the super heroes in general, she has her shining moments of helping out and also hindering the good guys. I think what I love most about her is that she is a kick ass female with a love for all things weaponry, and as a girl who loves her weapons in real life this was right up my alley. This gave me the opportunity to make a really big gun and play with smaller weapons and just stock up, the more the merrier right ;)

The gun was made using two separate Nerf guns modded together, we added a barrel to the end using a poster tube and prayed and weathered it accordingly. The laser scope and sight worked perfectly and it still fires darts. My Bf and I did this in about two days and it was a hit at the convention needless to say. The rest was pretty much stuff I already had and stuff I had purchased such as holsters, grenades and pistols that we also painted and weathered and a replica ammo belt my bf had laying around. I then made the X-Force belt buckle out of craft foam and painted it. The face paint I did myself (I am a special fx mua) in the con washroom hehe and chose to go with more of a blue tone because I like that design from the Wolverine animated series.

Needless to say this was and is a really fun cosplay and it was my own original spin on a classic character who has had so many variations. I was getting a lot of flak about how I held the gun, but here is the thing, most of these shots are for aesthetic purposes only, and this not being an air soft or replica rifle I cannot hold it the same as you would a normal sniper. There are pieces that do not allow me to have my hand in proper positions. But in the end I am really happy with how it turned out and would not change a thing. Hope you like it!"
