Geek Girl Zelda & D.W. Kim Photography and Design make truly amazing work together! This gallery features some of our favourites of theirs, here's what Zelda said about their work...

"DW Kim and I have been working together for about a year now. He's always a blast to work with because nothing is impossible with him. He's a professional photographer and retoucher mainly for fashion, beauty, and jewelry, but he likes working with me because I have weird ideas. The majority of the ideas are mine although he and I collaborate pretty heavily, and spend several hours going back and forth on Facebook perfecting the photos to the point we are happy with them. Some of the photos are ideas we plan out in advance, and some of them are things that happen spur of the moment (which ends up being some of our best work). Beyond these heavily Photoshopped photos we've got a lot of pretty conceptual, nude, fashion and art stuff as well, and every time we work together we spend a lot of the shoot playing :)

Most of the photos take a little bit of creativity and planning. I attached a step by step breakdown of some of the trickery that goes into doing one of these photos. I enjoy shooting some cosplay and costume stuff with DW, as he captures the comic style really well, but I love doing original stuff more! A lot of these ideas wouldn't have been possible to achieve with anyone else. We jump around from dark, silly, serious, and bizarre. Some of the photos are based around costumes and cosplay I have (such as Bride of Frankenstein, Red Sonja, Sailor Moon, Poison Ivy, and the mermaid). Some of them come from just an idea - probably the Gulliver's Travels photo was one of the most interesting to try to put together. Some of the ideas don't happen until I see a photo and see something I would like it to become, like the photo inspired by Poltergeist.

The Poison Ivy photos as well as the series of cyborg photos (based on Ghost in the Shell, H R Giger and Cyberpunk in general) were made for the 2014 Girls of Geek calendar for breast cancer charity. The others are really just for fun - We have fun with what we do! I look forward to continuing to create more unique work with him in the future."
