Olympe de Gouges

 

Hanna Nina Jameson posted this informative twitter thread about French playwright and political activist Olympe de Gouges, who wrote about women's rights and abolitionism and was executed for supposedly "abandoning the cares of her household to get involved in politics and commit crimes. She died on the guillotine for having forgotten the virtues that suit her sex."
