"I recently completed a dress for a local fashion show inspired by Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Legend of Zelda. I've included several photos of the dress.
The design was for DesignICON 2018 in Minnesota, where designers were asked to create a dress based on an icon of their choosing. I chose to make this dress resemble a Nintendo Entertainment System with it's metallic silver and simple design. Then, when my partner/model walked the skirt would furl out and show the world from the Legend of Zelda inside - as if the game had just been turned on. The hair piece is a broken Nintendo controller we had and the inside of the skirt is all quilted out of scrap fabric. I often make cosplay and dresses for my partner, especially since in this show I couldn't wear the dress myself."
